Tethered Drone System Released for Military Communications Relay

France-based aerial surveillance technology company Elistair releases a new tethered drone system. The Orion Heavy Lift is designed to suit the needs of ‘variable height antennas from military, public safety and homeland security customers.’

Rapidly deployable and long-endurance tethered drones enable the creation and extension of secure mobile networks. Elistairs’ Norwegian partner Northcom has already tested the limits of the Orion Heavy Lift in challenging Arctic Circle conditions in 2022, particularly for communication coverage purposes. The first deliveries of the Orion Heavy Lift are planned for the end of May 2023.
