BMT secures patent for revolutionary delivery drone tech

British maritime company BMT Group is granted a patent for their Sparrow autonomous ‘air-ground payload transfer device.’ It is used with delivery drones.

Sparrow is a ‘robotic device’ capable of autonomously collecting and delivering packages in extreme contexts, making its defense applications valuable After a world-first demonstration of the Sparrow at the UK Ministry of Defence’s Army Warfighting Experiment innovation event in November 2022, the British Army independently concluded the uncrewed aerial system (UAS) could ‘deliver payloads in the most challenging terrain.’
