Poland Takes Delivery of MQ-9A Reaper

The Polish Air Force receives a delivery of MQ-9A Reaper medium-altitude, long-endurance uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) leased from United States defense company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. The delivery is based on an October 2022 contract worth $70.6 million.

The exact number of Reapers delivered is not known, but the Polish Ministry of National Defence’s announcement of the delivery indicates it is more than one. The MQ-9A is capable of carrying multiple payloads including an electro-optical/infrared device, a multi-mode maritime surveillance radar, and electronic support measures, among others. The Polish armed forces are primarily interested in its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
