Rafael unveils video of counter-drone capability on Typhoon weapon

Israel-based defense company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems releases footage of its remote-controlled weapons station, Typhoon, downing small drones. While the Typhoon is currently in service in several navies around the world, its counter-drone capability is new.

The company boasts the weapons station’s ability to minimize its firing output through ‘fire correction.’ Rafael also notes that Typhoon can neutralize drone swarms one by one in rapid succession while in possession of a large magazine. They are offering this capability as an upgrade to current systems. The footage release comes just before the IDEX and NAVDEX conferences hosted in the UAE.
