Italian defense company, Leonardo, has announced a new hub site in Newcastle, UK. Leonardo plans to develop artificial intelligence to help sift through information gathered from radar sensors as part of the next-generation Tempest fighter jet program.
'Its new sensor suites for the Tempest, which is due to be in service in 2035, will be part of an information network handling data traffic comparable to that of a small city.' Moreover, at the Newcastle site, Leonardo will work on their unmanned helicopter drone being developed for the Royal Navy.
