US Navy teams with Qualcomm to research 5G, artificial intelligence

The United States Naval Postgraduate School signs a cooperative research agreement with Qualcomm Technologies to study 5G, AI, and cloud computing. The agreement aims to boost the US Navy’s digital transformation efforts while also engaging the school’s faculty and students in a matter of timely importance to the Department of Defense (DoD).

Qualcomm is the latest industry partner of the Naval Postgraduate School, made possible by the use of cooperative research and development agreements, or CRADAs. The partnership will focus in particular on ‘seamless connectivity and computer augmented decision-making.’ These research priorities reflect a new direction in research and development for both the DoD and private industry.
