Turkey orders ULAQ naval drone from shipyard Ares
Published on February 12, 2023
Shipbuilding company Ares has signed a contract with the Turkish government to provide the Turkish Navy with its first unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).
The order for “dozens” of the ULAQ-ASuW & ASW (anti-surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare, respectively) comes amid the Turkish Navy’s push for greater interoperability between its drones and other unmanned platforms. The ULAQ is well-suited for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaisance (ISR), surface warfare, asymmetric warfare, and other support missions.
