Chinese Balloon Over US Might Be Guided by AI, Says Expert

The Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon spotted in US airspace may be guided by artificial intelligence.

William Kim. a specialist on surveillance balloons, notes that such balloons have distinct advantages over traditional intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) methods. The balloon’s ‘advanced steering technologies,’ among other parts of its payload, allow it to maneuver in accordance with changes in the direction of the air around it.
