
Rheinmetall and AeroVironment Join Forces to Compete for NATO Special Forces Project

German-based arms manufacturer Rheinmetall and US-based defense contractor AeroVironment team up for a NATO special forces project.
The project involves a procurement program targeting small uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAS) for special operations and infantry applications. NATO requires that the desired UAS be capable of operating in all conditions, readily deployable, and hand launchable, along with other specifications. Rheinmetall and AeroVeironment specialize in systems housing for tactical drones and UAS development, respectively.
